Best Beach Shoes + Accessories
The Cobbler Concierge team is full of different personalities, so we’re all about staying true to personal style. As summer comes to a close, we’re reminiscing on all those hot but wonderful weekends we spent beach-side. From totes to booties, this is what the CC team recommends for the beach!
CARRIE: I don't really like exposing my feet and am more of a "mountain friendly" person, so my beach picks are a little unconventional. My top priority is to avoid getting sand in shoes, so I actually opt for—let’s just say—"covered" footwear. For a beach trip I always pack a slip-on street shoe: comfy, easy to take off, and my favorite: covered. I also absolutely love wearing boots to the beach. I stand out, and it’s really hard for sand to get in them. if it does, all I have to do is tip it over and pour it out.
When I’m going to the beach, I need a bag that will fit my towel and all the books that I will probably never get around to reading because I usually just sleep. Even better, a tote with a theme, so everybody knows exactly where I'm going. Even on an overcast day, I cannot go outside without sunnies, so those are my most important beach accessory.
Everlane Leather Street Shoe in white, $135

Kate Spade Expand Your Horizons Pelican Francis Tote, $198
Madewell Indio Sunglasses in S Midnight Tort, $55.
DANA: My beachwear skews more traditional: I prefer slides to sandals - that is, until I reach the boardwalk. Until then, I’m all about the sand between my toes, the too-cold ocean (anywhere north of the equator) lapping at my ankles and stepping on broken shells. If I did not live in Manhattan, I would live somewhere (anywhere) by the sea (think about those Instagram pics!).
I like my beach footwear to slip on and off so there’s as little residual mess as possible. I always bring a straw or canvas tote bag that won’t reveal too much wear and tear, and I will not - under any condition - leave home without a cover-up. As much as I look forward to fall fashion, there’s something effortlessly fun about throwing on a lightweight frock and sandals to go.
