Transitional Shoes from Summer to Fall
When it’s not quite hot but not quite cold, it gets more and more difficult to get dressed every morning. It’s too cold in the AM, but too hot in the PM. But if you really make it work, opposites do attract: summer + fall can actually turn into some of the best outfits ever.
This season, we’re obsessed with velvet booties. For early fall, these pair beautifully with a floral mini dress or a solid (read: black) maxi dress—even better if the maxi has a slit so the boot is more visible. Don’t forget your favorite light jacket to complete the look.
Block Heel Sandals:
There’s something about block heel sandals that feels very fall, even though they’re not. Paired with skinny jeans and a black blazer, you’ll have an effortlessly stylish look that won’t give you chills or make you sweat. If you want to cover your feet without saying goodbye to your sandals for the next six months, try pairing platform sandals with a fun, cozy pair of socks.
Peep-toe booties are everywhere right now. And for good reason: they’re perfect for transitional weather because they scream fall but have a little whisper of summer in the toes, no matter what you wear with them. When it gets cooler and stays that way, peep-toe booties also look stylish with sheer tights. And then when it inevitably gets even colder, they look great with opaque tights, too! Just try not to get snow on them.
Whether you like it or not, the 90s are totally back. For a comfortable in-between seasons look that also channels your inner Spice Girl, try a pair of platform sneakers. They work for any season with any outfit—a T-shirt + jeans, a skirt + tights.
