Fall Shoes To Shop Right Now
Believe it or not, sweater-weather is upon us. No sooner had the heat index peaked above 100 than everyone was counting down the days to autumn. In truth, New Yorkers have been wearing heftier footwear styles for weeks now (perhaps as a sartorial rain dance?), making room for new-season updates just in time for the latest fashion week.
In celebration of closed-toe-shoe-chic, we around rounding up our favorite fall footwear to shop right this moment. Check back with us, as we will be updating this list weekly. Happy shopping!
Strappy suede goodness abounds in the cross-over colorway design from Isabel Marant’s Fall ’16 collection. We’ll be wearing ours with an ankle-grazing skirt or dress – perfect for showing off the 3.5-inch conical heels.
Upgrade your athleisure collection with something sparkly and towering (it’s beginning to sound less like sportswear with every detail, no?). The purveyors of fashion-forward urban footwear, Ash has been dreaming up wearable favorites since the early days of its wedge trainers. Editor’s tip: a dose of silver – or gold – goes a long way. Amp up your look with a molten-metal trainer.
Nicholas Kirkwood Beya Loafers, $695
You had us at calf hair. Brit designer Nicholas Kirkwood has designed footwear collections for everyone from Erdem to Peter Pilotto, but his eponymous collection gets us everytime. Dress up your work-wear routine with city flats – a spotted animal print always helps.
Ah, the inimitable Rockstud. Valentino knows a good thing when it sees it – and so do we – so it was a natural step to expand the legacy of its über popular studded footwear collection. Pale gray ankle boots have populated our wish list for seasons, and it’s definitely time to make good on this shopping splurge.
Zara Pointed Leather Flat, $89.90
We have to hand it to Zara - the Spanish brand gives us shoe envy each season. Elevating wearable footwear in a pointed toe and a stretch leather upper, the brand's fall aesthetic for fall is smart, modern and city-focused.
Free People Patchwork Clogs, $207
Tapping into seventies style patchwork denim, Free People's leather upper is rendered in navy, petrol and royal blue. While wooden footwear might not be the most cozy thing you can put on your feet, it's definitely a wardrobe statement we wouldn't want to skip.
Whether you're still crushing sportswear or jumped to the next trend, it never hurts to give your feet a cushioned sole. We're loving Marc Jacobs' sparkly suede pair (perfect for boosting a mid-week slump) this season.
