Boston Insider Shares Her Favorite Shoe Finds in Beantown
Massachusetts-native turned New York PR powerhouse Alisa Jacobs gives the Concierge a glimpse into her shopping habits.
Jacobs, who oversees public relations and marketing for Cîroc and DeLeón Tequila at Diageo, has a penchant for spiked heels and hot hues. Here, she talks shopping, shoe memories and inspiration points.
Where are your favorite places to shop:
My default retail therapy will always be vintage shops and sample sales. Nothing beats shoe aisle wanderlust, but my work and travel schedules don’t afford me the indulgence these days. Luckily, I get my designer fix anywhere with addictive apps like Forward by Elyse Walker or Revolve for affordable finds. Still, whenever I go home I can't resist a tryst with Newbury Street boutiques.
Favorite pair of shoes you own:
This time last year, I received the best birthday gift from my best friend back West - sexy sandals with gold snakes wrapping the ankles a la Giuseppe Zanotti. I call them my power heels, because with a fresh pedicure and those on my toes, I feel like I can conquer the world. I've lost count of the compliments, to boot!
Boston by night:
The Strip at The Park Plaza just might live up to the hype! I'll sip and see for myself next time I'm Boston-bound.
Best place to find inspiration:
Boston Garden - and I don't just mean the arena. The Public Garden is infinitely inspiring. I am enamored and fascinated by flowers and foliage. There's a certain sensuality about the fragrant aromas, delicate petals and vibrant colors that is undeniably seductive. Walks in parks spark my creativity and influences my wardrobe. Trust me, it's worth a little dirt on your soles!
Best hidden gem:
Can you keep a secret? So can I! But, I will say the vault at the oldest jeweler in town, Shreve, Crump & Low, has quite a collection of hidden gems!
