Craziest Shoes from the Shows: Fall ‘15
Despite the abundance of hotly anticipated trends launched during fashion month, there were, as always, several shocking shoe moments. In New York, Alexander Wang’s heavy-duty boots had jaws on the floor with editors wondering who – and how would one – walk in these shoes? Rihanna, for one, answered this dilemma days later.
Rodarte showed a clear understanding of this season’s boot fetish, checking off the mid-calf height and lace-up detailing trends at the same time; however, the interpretation inexplicably featured a sole stud and mismatching latex color combos that seemed a bit questionable.
From Gucci and Ferragamo to John Galliano (making his RTW debut at Maison Margiela), the all-over furry look left some scratching their heads wondering duster or designer? As evidenced, fur was back in a big way - whether loved or loathed - though not always executed in a way we'd want to be repeating.
Over at Celine, Phoebe Philo presented an eclectic mix of footwear options, ranging from cruisey slip-on styles (chic) to woven leather heels embellished with crystal brooches (curious) that felt more flapper than forward.
Moschino turned up the volume – and padding- this season with neon, quilted boots. You don’t even need to see this brought to life to know how this fashion nightmare ends.
